JOB TITLE: Engineering Lead
SALARY: 90,440 - 120,000
LOCATION: Edinburgh
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in our Edinburgh office.

Are you a tech leader who loves empowering teams and driving? We're looking for an Engineering Lead to drive the success of our teams, ensuring they have everything they need to thrive. In this role, you'll set the overall direction for our engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency. You'll work closely with product owners to make sure technology is at the heart of decision-making, while also keeping a close eye on risk, resilience, and costs. You will be coding day to day, performing code reviews, utilize your deep technical expertise to guide and mentor the team towards delivering a high-quality software.

What you'll need10+ years of proven experience defining technology vision and architecture working closely with Lead architects to drive strategic development A deep, inquisitive focus on technology, with a track record of identifying opportunities to optimise and enhance systems and processes A person who combines strategic leadership with deep technical expertise in Java/Spring/Python/Big Data Tech and paves the way for the engineering teams to deliver high quality, enterprise grade, high-availability systems A drive to learn new and upcoming technologies and best practices - The bank and the team is investing in GenAI backed applications and a strong willingness to learn and contribute will make you stand out. Strong background on Linux and GCP/AWS/Azure. Experience on containers, Kubernetes and/or serverless architecture will be highly advantageous Collaborative mind-set with cross-functional leadership across Product, DevOps, Security, QA and Infrastructure. A solid background in resilience and security by design, ensuring teams take full ownership of production issues and prioritise a customer first approach A passion for developing talent, fostering a product-based mindset, attracting and retaining top engineering talent to build high-performing teams
