At Zooki, we believe in doing things properly--with care, attention, and a genuine passion for what we do. Whether it's supporting our customers or helping each other out, we always go the extra mile. We're a close-knit team that values kindness, teamwork, and a proactive attitude. If you're someone who takes pride in your work, enjoys being part of a supportive environment, and thrives in a fast-paced setting, we'd be delighted to have you on board.
The Role:
We're a growing health and wellbeing company on an ambitious path -- not just to manufacture and pack our own products, but to do so with real attention to quality, efficiency, and smart automation.
We're now looking for an Engineering & Maintenance Technician who's ready to take ownership of this journey -- someone with the technical skill to get hands-on with our machines, and the vision to help shape how we grow.
This role isn't just about maintaining equipment -- it's about putting your own stamp on how our technical function is run. You'll have the space to build systems properly, shape maintenance and engineering standards from the ground up, and directly influence how we scale our automation capability in the months and years ahead.
You'll work closely with the leadership team, but this is very much your domain to own. We want someone who takes pride in doing things well, understands the detail behind machinery and systems, and can take charge of technical operations with confidence and care.
Key Responsibilities:
Take full ownership of our machines - Become the in-house expert on the setup, calibration, operation, and maintenance of our machines. Continuously improve performance and reliability through understanding and care.
Lead the delivery and installation of new machines machine - Oversee the arrival, installation, and commissioning of this new equipment. Coordinate with suppliers, manage the setup process, and ensure everything is in place for a smooth handover into production.
Implement preventative maintenance - Develop and manage a clear, well-structured preventative maintenance programme to ensure machine availability and reduce breakdown risk.
Manage spare parts and components - Maintain accurate records and stock levels for critical spares. Ensure we have what we need on hand and reorder proactively.
Fault-finding and troubleshooting - Confidently identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, or system issues with minimal disruption to production.
Support continuous improvement - Regularly review machine performance, suggest improvements, and help to implement practical upgrades or changes.
Recommend and support future investments - Contribute technical insight into decisions about new machinery and improvements to existing infrastructure.
Uphold safety and compliance standards - Provide competent support on technical health, safety, and environmental matters. Promote and model safe working practices across the team.
Support and train others - Where applicable, provide training, mentoring, and day-to-day support to other members of the team on optimal operations of our equipment.
We'd Love to Hear From You If You:
A strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering -- either through qualifications or proven hands-on experience
Familiarity with automated packaging equipment, conveyors, or similar manufacturing machinery
Working knowledge of control systems (e.g. PLCs, HMIs, sensors, etc.)
Comfortable managing projects and coordinating with suppliers or contractors
Methodical, with a proactive and responsible attitude toward equipment care and performance
Experience in a food production environment is preferred
Understanding of BRC or similar food safety standards is desirable
Someone self-motivated, practical, and able to take full ownership of their responsibilities
