The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join our expanding team and site. We are looking for a strategic leader who can manager Engineering team and the challenges and complexities that come with short shelf life food manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

The Engineering Manager will drive the engineering function to optimise the machines, deliver and manage efficient high performing assets, processes, and systems. Use advanced production, processing techniques and project management skills to deliver new projects on time and to budget. You will also be required to manage the installation and decommissioning of food and drink assets. The Engineering Manager will lead technical engineering performance reviews and continuous improvement activities.

This role reports to the Operations Director and is a key active member of Site Leadership Team

Champion SHE compliance within the engineering function and support delivery across the wider business. Lead the development of asset strategies to meet organisational goals. Review operational data and information for assets. For example, how to collect data on condition assessment, age profiles, asset failures, reviewing the performance of assets, loss of service, failure of legal compliance, and asset breakage. Develop a strategy to identify intervention and mitigation options for the failure of assets. For example, preventative/reactive maintenance, new build, refurbishment, replacement, change in operation, rapid response. Develop a strategy to identify and prioritise the asset needs using whole life cost, cost-benefit analysis, cost effectiveness analysis, multi-criteria decision making and options comparisons. Champion the business development programme prioritises investment needs and/or to inform asset management decision making. Develop and maintain an effective and accurate engineering and site services cost plan, regularly provide updates to stakeholders, value engineer and provide expenditure forecasts. Takes ownership of asset management, including implementation of the resource and competence strategy, within the organisation to support clear and consistent decision making. Ensure an effective continuous improvement programme is in place.

Qualifications/Skills/ Experience.

Engineering Apprenticeship and / or Engineering Technical Qualification Level 3 or above. Current Edition of IET Wiring Regulations (C&G Level 3). IOSH Managing Safely. Application of SHE legislation and procedures. Identify the organisation's context and constraints that affect asset management. Develop and classify asset life-cycle plans including performance monitoring, business cases and activities. Apply continuous improvement techniques and quantify asset, asset system and asset management activity-related risks and identify mitigation options. o Mechanical principals, F&D assets, welding, machining, turning, hydraulic, pneumatic & thermodynamics systems and / or, electrical principals, safety & control circuits, motors, motor control circuits, motion control, encoders, PLCs, sensors. FMCG Experience >3 year.

The Candidate

To be a successful candidate you will possess a proven track record as an Engineering Manager within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment and experience of a multi-skilled engineering function. You will need to be comfortable with making difficult decisions, building engaging and inspiring your team and aiming to exceed the targets set by the board and Operations Management.

Pay: 55,000.00-65,000.00 per year
