Are you a proactive, hands-on Engineering Manager with a passion for operational excellence, sustainability, and team development? Lincolnshire Herbs Ltd, a leading supplier of fresh herbs to the UK's major retailers, is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our dedicated engineering team and drive continuous improvement across our state-of-the-art production and glasshouse facilities.

About the Role




As

Engineering Manager

, you will be responsible for the management of all engineering, maintenance, and health & safety compliance across our site. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all production and utility equipment while fostering a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.


This is a key leadership role where your technical expertise and people management skills will directly support our operational performance and long-term business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:




Lead and develop the engineering team to deliver high standards in maintenance, breakdown response, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Manage engineering systems for planned preventative maintenance (PPM), compliance, and performance monitoring.

Oversee site utilities, including LED lighting, Priva environmental control systems, heating, and water harvesting systems.

Manage engineering budgets and external service contracts efficiently.

Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, environmental standards, and company policies.

Deliver projects to improve plant efficiency, reduce energy usage, and support sustainability goals.

Collaborate cross-functionally with production, growing, and operational teams to drive site-wide improvements.

What We're Looking For:



Essential:




Degree or HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).


Proven experience leading engineering teams in manufacturing, horticulture, or food production.

Strong hands-on technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems.

Excellent leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of health & safety legislation and statutory inspection requirements.

Experience managing PPM systems, budgets, and contractor relationships.

Desirable:




NEBOSH or IOSH qualification.


Leadership/management qualifications.

Experience in glasshouse operations, hydroponics, and renewable energy systems.

Familiarity with BRC standards and Priva environmental control systems.
