Vattenfall Heat Projects develops and realizes all of Vattenfall's new-build heating plant projects in the Netherlands, United Kingdom and Sweden.


The Engineering Department within Heat Projects consists of an international team of highly qualified engineers from different disciplines and is responsible for the technical integrity of the newly built heating plants.


For each project, a selected project team manages the development and execution processes and coordinates the realization, commissioning and hand-over of the new plants to the future operator in consultation with the stakeholders.


In addition, the engineering department supports the projects with schedule preparation, investment cost estimation and quality management.


In order to support the development and manage implementation of our technical activities in an extensive project portfolio, we are looking for an Engineering Manager for our project portfolio in UK Bristol.

YOUR TASKS AS AN ENGINERING MANAGER



Accountable for engineering workstream on the project, including setting up engineering team with internal members and external supply chain. Coordinating the design development of the project throughout the phases. Setting out design requirements to engineers, monitoring quality matching the project phase. Keep close aligned with Project Manager to assist and provide information from and to stakeholders. Preparation of project phase-dependent documents (terms of reference, tenders for design consultants, co, etc.) Preparation of cost estimates Participation in project meetings, negotiations, evaluation of bids and preparation of award recommendations Ensuring quality assurance and quality control during the planning, tendering, construction, commissioning and operation phases Participation in inter-project and inter-departmental exchanges of experience Preparation of meeting reports and presentations Keep up-to-date on happenings in project and technological developments of the market. In this role, you report to the Project Manager within a project and to Management in the Engineering Department. You will be a sparring partner for the Project Manager and the rest of the project management team Using "people skills" to build and motivate engineering teams.


Qualifications



Degree in process engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or power plant engineering and experience in planning and project management Experience in the operation of district heating and combined heat and power plants is an advantage - Heat pumps, storage, e-boilers Professional skills include a sound knowledge of heat generation processes as well as the interface of generation plants to district heating networks Personal competencies include leadership qualities and excellent analytical skills Good focus on safety and safety in design Experience in scheduling and engineering processes Experience in working in teams, including cultural sensitivity Knowledge of UK standards and regulations Working on interdisciplinary topics and interfaces with other departments are obligatory for you
