Engineering Manager (Electronic Design)

To play a fundamental role in managing, directing and developing DSL's in-house electronic design team, overseeing, managing and getting directly involved in client projects ensuring both on-time delivery and design accuracy and quality.

The ideal candidate will be well experienced in undertaking client electronic designs, creating technical specification documentation and utilising Altium tools to design reliable PCBs and relevant compilers to write firmware code (typically in C) to create a fully functional electronic product.

Detail below

Department Manager
- Liaise with and support DSL's in-house team of 3 in order to ensure on-time client delivery whilst maintaining quality and avoiding costly design mistakes
- Be responsible for the success of the department in the above regard.

Electronic Design
- Liaise with clients in order to understand their requirements pre and mid project.
- Specify and design analogue and digital electronic circuits and systems
- Electronic CAD design using Altium designer, designing efficiently for test, manufacture, environmental aspects and any other aspect relevant to the client
- Specify and design firmware and software pertaining to client designs
- Specify or manage the outsourcing of mechanical enclosures or other project elements that are not considered the company's core competency.
- Specify and design testing hardware and procedures to ensure production product leaving the company fully conforms to the Design Specification
- Work within the disciplines of standards relevant to the company and/or client's design.

Documentation
- Assist Sales in preparing quotations
- Assist in generation of design documentation, including Design Proposals and Design Specifications
- Maintain accurate time-records to enable the company to monitor accuracy of project quotations
- Maintain accurate records to assist the Operations Director in creation/updating of project plans and operational understanding of project progress.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 50,000.00-60,000.00 per year
