Overview




We are seeking a highly capable and confident Engineering Manager to lead one of our dynamic engineering teams. You will ensure we continue to deliver high-quality technical solutions rapidly and reliably, particularly within the motorsport industry and other fast-paced sectors. This role involves leading engineering projects from initial enquiry to delivery and ongoing support, driving product and process innovation, and maintaining industry-leading standards.

Key Responsibilities



Maintain a flexible, agile, and proactive approach to servicing motorsport and other quick-turnaround clients. Ensure compliance with ISO9001 and AS9100 standards as applicable. Work with the commercial team to respond promptly to customer enquiries, providing technical input and accurate cost estimates. Take full ownership of project delivery, acting as the key technical contact and delegating responsibilities within your team as needed. Mentor and develop engineering staff, including onboarding, career development, and performance management. Empower team members through delegation, accountability, and continuous feedback. Ensure efficient and effective use of engineering resources, collaborating with other department leads. Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes, including document control, design lifecycle efficiency, ERP integration (SAP), and NPI procedures. Guarantee clear and accurate drawing, BOM, and BOP documentation for all production jobs, with robust revision control. Liaise across departments to ensure timely, high-quality project delivery. Collaborate with suppliers to meet technical and commercial project needs. Understand and enhance internal processes, contributing to technological advancement and competitiveness. Support production teams in delivering continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure that appropriate risk assessments are in place for all engineering processes. Take a hands-on approach to understanding and improving key processes.

Personal Specification



Degree-qualified engineer, ideally with experience in motorsport or automotive sectors. Background in Technical Project Management, Project Engineering, or Coordination is desirable. Proven experience managing and developing engineering teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; approachable, proactive, and positive. Methodical problem-solver with high attention to detail. Self-motivated and capable of independent work. Technically hands-on with a sound understanding of project commercial implications. PC literate with the ability to learn or use SolidWorks, SAP Business One, and Adept. Capable of managing multiple engineers, with potential for team growth. Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to go beyond the job description when necessary. * Experience with composite material design and manufacturing is a plus.
