Role Purpose
The Engineering Manager reports to the Head of Site for Cornelius Specialties and is responsible for all aspects of engineering at the site and the leadership of the engineering team. The Engineering Manager plays a key role in the DSEAR management plan and forms part of the site DSEAR committee.
Main Responsibilities
Lead the development and performance of the engineering department in-line with company objectives.
Ensure that plant and equipment are maintained in order to maximise efficiency and effectiveness at all times.
Ensure that the planned maintenance is carried out and a robust preventative maintenance strategy is in place including adequate data and documentation retention.
Lead and support in the design and installation of new plant and equipment as required including contribution to the IQ, OQ, PQ process.
Champion H&S onsite and support the H&S strategy. Lead relevant Risk Assessments, HAZOP, PTWs and SOPs.
Manage site related contractors from selection to performance review ensuring the company is always working with the correct service providers.
Lead in a way that is consistent with the Cornelius Vision Mission and Values.
Person Specification
Essential Knowledge
Experience of working within a chemical production operation.
ATEX machinery and DSEAR management.
Hands on plant maintenance capabilities.
Desirable Knowledge
Project Management.
IT Literate - Experience with SAGE, PM software packages.
Effective communication skills.
Initiative and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to navigate issues at short notice such as plant breakdowns with a proactive 'can do' attitude.
Leadership of teams and promoting company strategy.
Related engineering skills (on tools as required)
Essential Qualifications
Chemical Engineering Degree or equivalent (Essential)
Electrical Qualification (18th Edition)
