As an Engineering Manager you\'ll provide the technical and people leadership for one of our engineering teams, working closely with your team members to ensure they have the context and guidance they need to build effective solutions for our customers.
Along with your Product Manager counterpart, you\'ll play a key role in deciding what to prioritise each quarter, balancing fast feature delivery against sustainable execution. You\'ll go deep into technical solutions and guide execution to deliver value iteratively, using agile practices and metrics to help your team continually refine and improve their delivery processes.
This is a broad role that covers team health, people development, engineer productivity and technical architecture, combined with the customer focus to ensure that your team builds the right thing, in the right way.
The ideal candidate is curious, spirited, lives and breathes Agile and the DevOps philosophy and is passionate about working in a team which focuses on building products to easily enable the businesses of the biggest Platforms.

Qualifications

What we\'re looking for

  • Experience leading at least one high performing engineering team
  • Experience balancing product and business needs against sustainable execution
  • Experience coaching, mentoring and helping engineers to deepen their skills and progress their careers
  • Software Development, design and Architecture experience, with security in mind
  • Agile processes, DORA metrics and using data to guide effective product delivery
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment workflows
  • Experience building distributed systems in a cloud based environment
  • Superb communication skills, ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of individuals at all levels

  • Technical and people management for one of our highly skilled engineering teams
  • Coaching, mentoring and people development.
  • Together with your Product Management counterpart, identify the deliverables that will drive most value, balancing customer needs now with running a sustainable team.
  • Agree OKRs, set goals and monitor progress, adjusting course as necessary in order to maximise your impact
  • Support our agile process, using data to uncover hidden bottlenecks and enable iterative execution at pace
  • Monitor and maintain your team\'s overall cohesion and health
  • Support incident response and post-incident investigation processes; participate in on-call rotations
  • Guide decisions on architecture, code quality, testing and monitoring. Ensure we\'re building the right things in the right way.
