About the role



To oversee and advise on the operation and condition of all plant and systems across the Barbican. Working closely with the Head of Engineering, be responsible for updating the 20-Year Forward Maintenance Plans for the buildings, plant and systems and prioritising project works for the annual Cyclical Works (plant replacement) Programme (CWP).

Key Responsibilities:


To be responsible for the operation and condition of all plant and systems across the Barbican. To prioritise compliance, insurance, safety, and operational works to always ensure 100% completion in these areas. To ensure all systems are maintained to the highest standards



To carry out and/or arrange for condition surveys of mechanical systems and other systems. To continuously review and implement improved planned preventative maintenance systems. To audit works carried out by both internal and external resources to maximise the life and quality of plant. Recommend additional works and/or advise on dilapidation, replacement, or alternative systems as



Working closely with the Head of Engineering to be responsible for the Engineering input into the 20 Year Forward Maintenance Plans in terms of buildings, plant and systems and prioritising project works for the annual Cyclical Works Programme (CWP). To prepare reports, specifications/tender documentation for the renewal/replacement and modifications of mechanical and electrical services and
