The role

As a Engineering Subcontractor Co Ordinator you\'ll have a role that\'s out of the ordinary. Babcock provides services including fleet time engineering, facilities management, waterfront services, logistics and transport within an agreed operating budget, firmly focused on continuous and sustainable improvement in warship and submarine support.

Day to day, you\'ll support the ongoing maintenance of the Royal Navy\'s Submarine Fleet by acting as the liaison between our Babcock Engineers and the required subcontractors, interoperating the engineers\' requirements for our subcontractors\' products or services.

You will:

• Determine the scope of the subcontract resource or services required to provide capability to deliver the maintenance standards / work packages.
• Ensure close liaison with all internal and external stakeholders, providing accurate information to ensure the smooth delivery of our Fleet Maintenance Programmes.
• Produce clear and detailed technical statements of requirement for project submarine maintenance periods for subcontract requirements.
• Evaluate subcontractor queries and tender responses, co-ordinate technical comments, preparation of technical evaluations and award recommendations for submarine maintenance periods.

Essential experience of the Engineering Subcontractor Co Ordinator:

• Worked in a similar position, interpreting technical requirements, and relaying them back to non-technical teams from another highly regulated industry, such as Defence, Engineering, Shipbuilding, Manufacturing or Construction.
• You will have the ability to track and record high volumes of information accurately.
• Experience of managing subcontractors.

This role is full time and permanent, at 37 hours per week working Monday to Friday. You will be required to spend time on site 2-3 days per week.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
