We are looking for a new
Engineering Supervisor
to join our Engineering Team. This role will be hands on and oversee daily supervision of 3 maintenance engineers on our days shift. Providing a maintenance service to the business and buildings, plant and associated equipment that ensures 100% availability and reliability, that results in the safe and efficient production of products.
Duties will include:
Supervisory control of maintenance engineers
Liaise with the Engineers in relation to departmental requirements
Take responsibility for the Engineering Manager and other Engineering shift leaders in their absence.
Conduct a range of engineering activities including (but not limited to) fault diagnostics, breakdown cover, equipment instillation and the general maintenance of all plant and equipment to ensure optimum efficiency
Support the Engineering Manager with the commissioning of new machinery
Complete and maintain accurate documentation following repair
Contribute to focused improvement meetings (FIM) as and when required
Maintenance of building fabrication and services
Conduct scheduled planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
Work with contractors to ensure specialist machinery is maintained
Ensure the clean as you go policy is maintained
Conduct toolbox audits
Fully cooperate with site management and the workforce
Report any Health and Safety hazards within the area
Take a consistent and fair approach when implementing company policies and procedures.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Engineering related qualification or relevant experience in an engineering role ideally within food manufacturing
Strong technical knowledge and aptitude for both mechanical and electrical engineering
Competent in working with PLC systems and fault finding on electrical circuits. Ideally 18th Edition qualified
Sound fault finding ability and a working knowledge of pneumatics and electronics
Ability to use initiative
Flexibility
Good written and oral communication
Excellent leadership and management skills.
