Role description:



The Knottingley business unit manufactures glass containers for good and is part of a leading supplier in glass packaging solutions for the world's leading brands.



We are currently seeking to strengthen our team within the Engineering Department at Knottingley, by appointing an Engineering Supervisor to work alongside technical supervisors, production engineering and finished products, reporting to the Production Manager. This role has the opportunity for leadership development, including internal training and externally accredited programmes to support your performance and career progression.



Responsibilities:



Ensuring compliance to health and safety procedure and polices

Providing specialist support to the engineering team, ensuring effective and timely change over and minimising downtime.

Participation and Liaison of external technical support for development and improvements to the process systems

Technical lead on fault finding and diagnostics

Development of multiskilled engineers within the engineering department

Manage the daily running of the department

Participate in continuous improvement, projects - technical / hygiene / 5's Etc



Required skills / qualifications:



Apprentice training, mechanical / electrical or combined multi skilled engineer

Proven track record of managing people with Leadership/supervisory skills adhering to the company core values and leadership behaviours

A multi skilled approach to forming systems and ability to adopt new technologies

Understanding of process engineering and Lean Manufacturing Principles

Capability to develop training and standard operation procedures for the engineering, department whilst ultimately developing a small team of multiskilled engineers, Excellent communication and relationship building skills with a commitment to teamwork

Adaptable and willing to operate across all engineering departments, with commitment to support a 24-hour operation

Salary Minimum 37,491 - 45,612 Maximum

37 hours per week, plus 26.5 days holiday + 8 statutory holidays
