About the role
Support the Senior Engineering Surveyor/Engineering Survey Manager in the delivery of all survey requirements for the project.
Tasks include engineering control, topographic survey, engineering surveying and setting out. Provide the site team with construction information, assist in QA/QC,
and support H&S (Health & Safety) and sustainability initiatives within the survey department
What you'll be doing
Core
o Supervise and mentor survey teams.
o Produce deliverables to strict deadlines in accordance with the site programme.
o Collecting survey field data, processing, and issuing to clients or stakeholders in the agreed formats.
o Ensuring all site-specific tolerances are met in any survey related operations.
o Ensuring the safe and secure storage of all historical survey data relating to the project.
Health Safety and Environment
o Responsible for the safe working of themselves, their team and others whilst carrying out any survey related activities.
o Hazard identification and raising observation cards.
o Provide daily site safety briefings to the survey team, SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) essential.
o Creating TBS (Task Briefing Sheets).
Engineering Control
o Carry out checks on survey equipment in line with the company Business management System.
o Carry out survey QA on design deliverables prior to construction release.
o Provide site engineers with information from design deliverables (schedules, digital models, and drawings).
o Carry out independent surveys checks at key stages in the construction process.
Quality
o Complete QA (Quality Assurance) records as required.
o Produce of as-built drawings from survey data in survey specific software.
o Comply with hold point checks in accordance with the ITP (Inspection and Test Plan) procedure. Formally comprise and issue results to all relevant stakeholders.
Commercial
o The management and collation of required survey records to aid the commercial management of the project.
o Maintain inventory of survey equipment and consumables
Advise on survey equipment procurement
Who we're looking for
o Must be keen to learn and develop within the Survey Team
o Possess effective communication and negotiation skills.
o Ability in IT (Information Technology) applications
o Build effective working relationships with the wider project team.
o Knowledge of settlement monitoring systems, methods, and technologies.
o Knowledge of geodetic requirements associated with project requirements.
o Knowledge of latest survey equipment, software, and technologies
o Experience in establishing GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) networks.
o Enrol in membership of professional institution as identified with line manager.
o Attend relevant and specific courses as identified with line manager.
During this role you will be required to obtain an SSSTS qualification, and you will be a Tech Member of the CinstCES (working towards full member)
