We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Team Leader on a permanent basis to work at our Valley Park site in Barnsley.
Job Purpose:
Reporting directly to the Engineering Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting in managing a team of site mechanical and electrical engineers, contractors and specialist work providers. Working closely with production, operations and technical to improve engineering standards and efficiencies, and for assisting in the training and development of the engineering team within your area of control.
Main duties include:
Supervising a team of mechanical and electrical engineers who operate on shifts, efficiently and cost effectively to meet the operational requirements of the site
Supervision of sub-contractors and specialist service providers
Maintenance of all site machinery, buildings, utilities (including Water, Gas, Air, Electricity, Effluent and Refrigeration) and all associated services on site so as to enable an effective and lawful site operation meeting all operational requirements
Maintain and improve services, plant and machinery ensuring the productive capability of the plant is optimised and improved for the ever-changing needs of the business
Standards and procedures are in place and regularly updated to govern all engineering activities on site. Including all aspects of asset registration, safe working practices, management of contractors and the assessment of competence of all engineering staff
Preparation of risk assessments, technical files and other technical documentation required by safety legislation and procedures
Maintain records appertaining to the PPM schedule for all existing and new equipment including the emergency maintenance system
Assist in the timing of maintenance
Assist in the overseeing of all contract activities, both maintenance and projects and ensure all safety aspects are managed and monitored in accordance with site procedure and requirements
Assist the engineering management to ensure full contractor Induction training is carried out
Maintain reporting procedures to demonstrate continuous improvement and KPI achievement:
Applicants must be:
Fully qualified, with a nationally recognised certification
Relevant and demonstrable experience within the food industry would be preferable.
Lean manufacturing techniques would be desirable
Food safety Level 3
Hours of Work are on a continental shift rota worked on a 3 off, 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on cycle. Daily working hours are 5.30am-17.30pm and 17.30pm-05.30am (days and nights)
