Hereford Contract Canning is a forward-thinking and inclusive business with ambitious growth plans. Following recent investment and the acquisition of new customers, we are expanding our Engineering function and are now recruiting Engineering Team Leaders to support and lead our Shift Engineering Technicians.

This is a hands-on role that combines front-line leadership with practical engineering expertise to ensure safe, reliable and efficient maintenance across the site.

About the Role:

Based at our Hereford site, you will work a continental (Panama) day shift pattern (no nights), reporting to the Maintenance Manager. You will act as the technical lead on shift and the first point of escalation for engineering issues, ensuring plant performance, safety and reliability standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support Shift Engineering Technicians during the shift Prioritise and coordinate reactive and planned maintenance activities Provide hands-on fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance Ensure compliance with Safe Systems of Work, including LOTO and permits Monitor shift performance against KPIs (downtime, availability, PMs) Allocate daily tasks and escalate longer-term planning where required Coach and develop team members and support training plans Keep accurate records in the CMMS Promote a strong culture of safety, quality and accountability

About You:

Time-served, multi-skilled Engineering Technician (electrical and mechanical) IOSH or NEBOSH qualified (or working towards) ILM or equivalent leadership qualification (or willingness to undertake) Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability, ideally including PLC interrogation Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within an industrial or manufacturing maintenance environment Confident communicator with the ability to engage, influence and lead others effectively

Pay: 50,000.00-53,500.00 per year
