The Engineering Team Leader is responsible for overseeing factory maintenance and ensuring the manufacturing and packing operations run efficiently on a daily basis. This role involves organizing and guiding the engineering team in conducting Preventative and Reactive Maintenance tasks, as well as coordinating machinery modifications when needed.
The Engineering Team Leader will work closely with both the Engineering Manager and Maintenance Coordinator, stepping in to support the operation in their presence and deputising in their absence as needed. They will ensure timely resolution or appropriate escalation of any issues that may impact the production plan, maintaining adherence to required specifications across daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
Collaboration with the Engineering Manager is essential to drive continuous professional development, staying informed of best practices in Health and Safety, industry standards, and regulatory compliance. The Engineering Team Leader is expected to embody and actively promote the company's core values of commitment, delight, passion, and respect within the team.
Duties
Lead the engineering team to execute the maintenance plan effectively and efficiently.
Ensure maintenance tasks are performed in alignment with the production schedule to avoid interruptions.
Supervise team adherence to GMP and other site standards.
Oversee the timely response to breakdowns to minimize equipment downtime.
Ensure all maintenance activities are documented accurately, including equipment hand-back, downtime, and handover summaries.
Conduct inspections to verify that production records and handover tasks are completed correctly and on time.
Encourage and implement continuous improvement practices to boost team performance and site efficiency.
Ensure all equipment is operated responsibly to prevent undue wear, breakdowns, or safety risks.
Lead efforts to maintain equipment cleanliness and hygiene, supporting autonomous maintenance standards.
Monitor equipment safety conditions, ensuring all machinery is safe for use.
