About the Role
We are seeking a
Marine Engineer
to join our team on a part-time basis, supporting the upkeep and performance of a small fleet of
workboats and multicats
. Reporting directly to the Marine Engineering Superintendent, you will play a key role in ensuring vessels remain operational and downtime is minimised through effective maintenance and inspection.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance of onboard equipment.
Identify faults and source appropriate replacement parts as required.
Complete detailed daily reports on maintenance and repairs, submitting findings to the Marine Engineering Superintendent.
Work independently to deliver a high standard of mechanical and basic electrical maintenance.
Assist in reducing vessel downtime by implementing proactive maintenance practices.
About You
Strong background in
mechanical engineering
, with
basic electrical knowledge
.
Previous experience working with workboats, multicats, or similar vessels (preferred but not essential).
Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
Proactive and solutions-focused, with good problem-solving skills.
Strong written communication for detailed daily reporting.
