Engineering technician (Mech BIAS) Bridgend, Days

Your responsibilities:

Restoring/overhauling and maintaining equipment to departmental targets. Equipment/unit changes on machines. Operation and maintenance of Steam systems (Training provided) Water Systems. Hydraulic and Pneumatics. Ability to carry out welding & burning tasks. Operate machine shop equipment eg, lathes, milling machines etc. Ability to carry out fault diagnosis. Knowledge and experience of CMMS system. Issue of Permits and isolations. Supervision and control of contractors where required. Assist in improving reliability You will continually develop your technical skills through training.

Your profile:

Ideal candidates will be apprenticeship time served and qualified to minimum ONC level or equivalent. Candidates with experience gained in a heavy industry sector ideally within steel, paper-making, materials extrusion or a similar sector is highly preferred. Demonstrated skills in diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs. Good communication skills to work effectively with production and maintenance teams. Self-motivated and flexible, with a commitment to ongoing training and continuous improvement.
