Overview





We are currently looking to recruit an Engineering Workplace Coach to be part of the AMRC Training Centre Team.


You will join the delivery team and will be responsible for the work-based assessment of the Engineering Levels 3 through to 6 of the apprenticeship programme. You will be required to deliver teaching, learning and assessment and maintain a portfolio of employers and learners to high quality standards.



You will have a Minimum Level 6 qualification in an engineering (or related) discipline and relevant industrial experience within a Mechatronics Maintenance environment. You may already be a qualified Workplace Coach, holding appropriate assessor/verifier qualifications. You may also be required to undertake the new level 4 Assessor/Coach qualification standard.



You will be required to carry out workplace assessments at Employers' premises. You will be expected to support enrichment activities, Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths events to promote the AMRC Training Centre. Some of these will be out of normal working hours. You will also be responsible for developing excellent relationships with employers and reporting on the progress of the learners through the review process. You will work closely with curriculum staff, learners and employers to ensure that learners progress and achieve their end point assessment.


Main duties and responsibilities




Carry out initial learner planning meetings to ensure that apprentices complete a skills scan, understand their training plan and check that the apprentice can achieve the programme. Provide high quality information, advice and guidance to learners, supporting career progression opportunities. To develop and deliver highly effective teaching, coaching and assessment practices for learners, utilising a range of blended learning approaches. Undertake fully compliant and timely tri-partite learner progress reviews and assessments in the workplace. To carry out meaningful discussions with learners that focus on the learning that the apprentice has undertaken. To ensure that employers are present and fully involved within the review. Monitor and ensure that all learners demonstrate 4 weekly active learning and track the Off The Job % to ensure that the AMRC TC remains 100% compliant at all times. Ensure that all apprentices within the assigned caseload meet the agreed practical period end dates and end point assessment by the agreed apprenticeship end date. Support and promote involvement in the personal and professional development curriculum, which link to the requirements of the overall apprenticeship standard, to enhance the offering of the AMRC Training Centre. Provide data on learner progress to employers, acting upon issues in a timely manner. Identify learners that require support or who are not making expected progress that fall into the 'at risk category' immediately to the TC management team and support teams. Ensure that curriculum assessments and reviews are completed to the required AMRC quality standard. Ensure learner feedback is captured, evaluated and fed into the Self-Assessment Review process to constantly improve the quality of provision Ensure that all apprentices within the caseloads Onefile accounts are monitored to ensure that their progress is in line with set parameters and that their account is kept up to date at all times. Attend monthly standardisation meetings and monthly update meetings with the Head of Skills/Workplace Curriculum Manager, as well as relevant training sessions. Carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.
