Job / Role description & duties for Engineers Mate - Allmec Engineering Limited
The Company
Allmec Engineering are a well-established SME concentrating on providing mechanical engineering support to several large, long-term customers. Our services include fabrication and site installation of access platforms, ladders, stairs, barriers, handrail systems, pipework and bespoke engineered solutions. We are looking for an Engineers Mate to join our team. Previous industry experience is preferred however not essential as full training will be given but a good knowledge of working with power and hand tools, an eye for detail, and the ability to take accurate measurements are essential.
Main duties
Supporting our team of engineers by assisting in manufacturing and installation procedures. Delivery and collection of materials and goods using company commercial vehicles. Daily maintenance & housekeeping of our workshop. Other tasks including but not limited to;
Cutting, marking out and drilling of steel components using fixed and portable power tools
On-site installation of finished products involving manual handling and use of scaffolding for access where required
Daily vehicle and equipment checks
General housekeeping including clearing of waste materials, emptying bins and tidying work areas
Must have skills
(absolutely essential):
Confident and experienced in using power and hand tools
Full current UK Driving Licence with a minimum of 3 year's driving experience
Physical capability to manually handle materials & equipment and confident to climb ladders & scaffolding.
Good communication skills
Good time management
Ability to take initiative
Career growth:
Specialized training for IPAF, PASMA, FLT, First Aid etc will be provided where necessary
Training on use of various mechanical assembly and tools
Salary and Benefits:
Full time position - 13.13 p/hr)
Workwear, PPE, power tools and basic hand tools provided by employer
Paid Overtime - if/when needed time & half / double time as applicable
Holidays: 20 days + 8 bank holidays - an additional day's holiday entitlement will be accrued for each full year of employment up to 25 days. Extra days will be accrued every 5 additional years of service thereafter up to a maximum of 30 days

Extra Information :
Work Location: Workshop based in Warrington, Cheshire - site work generally confined to Nort West UK but some work in other areas of the country may occasionally be required
39 hour week - Mon to Thu 07:30 to 16:00 / Fri 07:30 to 15:00 - 30 min unpaid lunch break Candidate must be flexible with working hours. Some out of hours and weekend work will be required by our customers.
