Location:

Argento Head Office, Belfast BT4

Contract: FTC - 1 Year - 24

hours per week - working 3 days per week

Salary

32,000 pro rata (hourly rate of 15.38)

Shift pattern:

Typical week will be working Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays (8am to 4:30pm)

During peak trading times, hours may vary and may include day, evening and weekend shifts. Peak trading includes but not limited to, Valentines, Mother's Day, Black Friday week and the lead up to Christmas (November/ December).

Job Summary



Engraving Development Designer is responsible for generating new innovative intricate designs. Taking possession and advancing current engraving services to create an exclusive style unique to Argento. Responsibilities encompass interpreting message and or design requests, operating engraving tools, and ensuring quality craftsmanship. At Argento we strive to deliver to our customer, offering personalised commercial services, whilst adhering to brand guidelines and company procedures.

The Engraving Development Designer will not only lead engraving operations within the Argento Group, but they will also understand the competitive market and have strong knowledge of design software. They will have the ability to maintain and exceed consumer trends, promoting and conducting internal training and development within the warehouse and stores, coaching and providing a mentorship to all employees.

Responsibilities:

Take ownership of the internal engraving service, ensuring customer requests are fulfilled to the highest standards in line with brand guidelines and company procedures.

Create high-quality engravings on jewellery items using various tools and techniques

Ordering and setting up new engraving equipment and machinery - ensuring the correct programmes required are uploaded and functioning.

Maintaining existing engraving machines and equipment - regularly conducting safety and quality assurance checks.

Read and interpret engraving requests and design specifications to determine the appropriate engraving to be made

Developing new engraving designs and patterns, whilst continuous improving our service, keeping ahead of competitors, researching market trends/ techniques and focusing on the development of a signature Argento style.

Developing engraving events - publicizing key services Argento has to offer, generating awareness to customer base.

Conducting internal staff training to all employees using engraving services to ensure they are full capable in managing customer requests, new concepts/ ideas and on the standard of deliver required.

Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of engraving tools and equipment

Ensure that all finished products meet quality checks and accuracy standards

Collaborate with other team members, to ensure that the engraving meets the customer's expectations.

Liaising with the Purchasing and Marketing Teams to ensure the creative process is in line with company vision.

Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and addressing concerns about the engraving process and finished product.

Follow health and safety, fire safety and housekeeping guidelines and standards, ensuring all waste is disposed of safely and in line with company process

Requirements:

Previous experience with leading engraving services/ specialist Jewellery

Proficiency in hand engraving techniques

Proficient in Photoshop

Proficient in uploading software/ creative design

Ability to read and interpret design specifications

Knowledge of jewellery materials and their compatibility with engraving techniques

Attention to detail and ability to inspect items and produce precise engravings

Confident with engraving equipment and maintenance procedures

Creative thinking - strong artistic and creative skills for custom engraving requests and development of new engraving designs

Problem solving - ability to quickly identify and address issues and reduce delays

Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet production deadlines

Interpersonal skills - able to communication effectively, and collaborate with colleagues and other departments on engraving projects

Time management - able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

Good concentration skills and be comfortable doing intricate work

Organisation skills - a methodical approach but also with creative flair, ability to manage multiple projects

Strong coaching style - developing an internal team by providing training and involving them within the creative process.

Customer Service - skill in providing excellent customer service to ensure satisfaction

Computer literate with experience of using Microsoft Office packages including excel and email

Ability to comply with health and safety regulations and ensure a safe work environment Flexibility both in duties within the team and in hours of work to ensure that business needs are met (additional hours during peak trading times) Right To Work Documents (UK Citizens - Passport or Birth Certificate & NI / All other Citizens - Copy of Sharecode Document) Registered Driver with access to own vehicle - role will require successful candidate to commute from different locations across the company (NI & ROI) Milage expenses are covered.

Desirable Criteria:



Previous Laser engraving experience (gravograph)

Previous experience of using RMIS and MPX or similar warehousing software packages Pervious example with leading engraving services and design
