Job Description

We are delighted to offer exciting opportunities to join our Security Team at Sheffield Children's Hospital. We have a Day Post, consisting of two 12-hour shifts per week, on a rota basis.
You will help maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Working across different areas of the hospital, you will provide support to nursing teams, respond to security incidents, and contribute to the wellbeing of vulnerable patients.
About You: You'll be a calm, flexible, and team-oriented person with strong communication skills. You'll be comfortable interacting with children, families, and staff in a compassionate and respectful manner--even during challenging situations. Experience in customer service or a security-related environment is desirable.
Essential:
GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths
Experience working in a customer-facing environment
Ability to work within a team and follow direction
Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Deputy Director of Hotel Services, your responsibilities will include:
Maintain a visible security presence through regular patrols
Respond to incidents of violence or aggression, including safe restraint and removal if necessary
Support staff and patients with physical and mental health needs on wards
Monitor and report security issues through CCTV and incident logs
Support emergency situations and communicate with police and hospital staff
Perform duties such as litter removal, laundry and food delivery, and waste handling
