We are seeking a
Service Engineer (Plant)
to join a growing company in the low-carbon energy sector. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in commercial plant and heat networks. You will work under the guidance of the Technical Manager, gaining hands-on experience across mechanical PPMs, reactive call-outs, planned repairs, and project work, helping to improve network reliability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Work under the supervision of the Technical Manager to complete planned preventative maintenance (pumps, actuators, plate heat exchangers, pressurisation units, degassers).
Carry out repairs, fault-finding, and reinstatement of commercial plant equipment.
Attend reactive call-outs to sites to restore heat and resolve plant failures.
Review root causes for plant failures and implement operational improvements.
Manage site-based project work and develop scopes for plant remediation.
Maintain accurate records in maintenance systems.
Communicate effectively with team members and external clients.
Ensure safe isolation of equipment before commencing work.
Candidate Requirements:
Completed a basic construction course or T-level, with a genuine interest in this industry.
1+ years of experience as a Commercial Plant Engineer or similar role is desirable but not essential.
Basic electrical competency and understanding of safe isolation procedures (mechanical and electrical).
Full UK driving license (valid for at least 12 months).
Organised, self-motivated, and positive with good communication skills.
