Job Description

Initially a 6 month fixed term contract commencing 1st December 2025.


Remote work available

within the UK only.




As an Environment Artist, with an understanding of the importance of environmental narrative, you will play a pivotal role in shaping immersive and visually stunning game worlds.


Collaborating closely with designers, other artists, and technical teams to bring concepts to life, ensuring that each environment is engaging and believable.

Responsibilities



Maintaining a high standard of modelling, texturing and PBR material creation. Crafting realistic, natural and hard surface, interior and exterior environments from white box. Working closely with other disciplines to ensure environments form believable game worlds. Ensure the style is in keeping with the overall art direction. Implementing correct file naming and directory structure requirements. Conducting research to inform environment development ensuring that created work is representative of real world examples.

Requirements



Proven experience creating and dressing large scale realistic environments within professional game development. Proficient in the use of Substance Painter. Strong attention to detail with a good eye for world building and storytelling. Strong texturing ability. Ability to work autonomously, self-critique work and respond accordingly. Ability to supplement a provided brief with your own research and ideas while ensuring delivery of the brief's core requirements. Understanding the necessity of an iterative approach. Able to respond positively and proactively to constructive feedback. Professional and approachable when communicating with stakeholders. Solid understanding of the art creation process and its place within the broader game development pipeline. Experience working with source control. Willingness to adapt to using various software and engine/s as required. Experience using UE5 is desirable.
