Job Description

1) Road sweeping, litter/debris, the emptying of bins across the main site and off-site properties by hand and with machinery. To complete daily and weekly maintenance and service tasks of clearing waste bins around the site. 2) Gritting of footpaths and roads during adverse winter weather conditions. 3) Participate in ad hoc local arrangements for snow clearing and gritting when weather conditions dictate outside out of hours working.



4) Support Estate personnel 5) To work with all Estates Supervisors and managers in the management of risks. This will include working to agreed Risk Assessments and assisting in the development of additional Risk Assessments. 6) Advise the Head Gardener regarding plant and equipment failure, identify materials required to complete tasks. 7) Carry out all duties in a professional and conscientious manner.



8) Wear The Christie NHSFT maintenance service uniform, identification badges and personal protective equipment at all times. 9) Carry out work in line with all trust policies including but not extensive to: a. Patient areasb. Working at heightsc.



Confined spacesd. Radiation controlled arease. Hostile environmentsf. Permit-to-Work / Safe Systems of Work 10) Undertake training where necessary to learn new techniques.



11) To be skilled in the safe use of all relevant hand tools and equipment. 12) Undertake training where necessary to learn new techniques. 13) Have a clean full drivers license and to undertake training to drive trust vehicles in relation to role. 14) Understand fully the inter-relationship between the various maintenance and facilities functions.
