Scotland's Railway is part of this large family and it covers a large geographical area from the Borders to Thurso at the far tip of the North East of Scotland, accounting for almost 20 per cent of the UK rail network. We provide rapid access along busy commuter routes to our seven cities, servicing the varied needs of our business and leisure commuter services, including cross border services and rural services. We have up to 50 freight services operating every day and we are steadily building capacity for this to grow. Brief Description
Supporting development and implementation of energy efficiency projects and low carbon technologies across our operations, infrastructure and assets. Using data to drive performance, influence decision making and work with other teams across the business to make progress against our carbon targets.

About the role (External)
Your daily activities will include: -
Provide expert support and guidance on all energy and carbon matters to deliver legislative and regulatory compliance.
Update and maintain energy records and documentation to support the energy management system
Provide the focus for liaison arrangements with internal stakeholders.
Site visits and energy audits as appropriate
Energy and carbon data management and reporting
Essential
Good understanding of UK and European environmental legislation and regulation
Good understanding of environmental management system
Knowledge of maintenance delivery process and techniques
Good interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisation skills
Desirable
Knowledge of operational railway environment
Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard
Membership of professional body
Salary:
The salary will be 35,582 - 42,218.
