At Weber we are looking for an Environmental and Sustainability Engineer to work in our Quality Assurance function with responsibilities for 2 of our world class manufacturing facilities in Flitwick and Telford. Our Environmental and Sustainability Engineer are known for providing market leading Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) to support sustainable/Eco innovation projects and develop Environmental Product Declarations. The main purpose of the role is to deliver robust and transparent information regarding environmental impacts of Saint-Gobain Weber\'s products. Environmental and Sustainability Engineer contributes/leads environmental and sustainability road-map projects and relevant environmental standards

The Environmental and Sustainability Engineer will join a Quality Assurance team consisting of 4 people and will be part of an overall Quality team of 18 people. The department sits within the Research and development team consisting of 28. This is a fantastic time to join Weber as the business is in a period of dynamic change and sustainability is the lifeline of the business and the successful person will be important for the long-term strategy

Weber is one of 30+ Saint-Gobain brands. Weber are formulators and manufacturers of building materials for the facade, construction mortars, flooring systems and tile fixing markets, Weber\'s well established product range includes monocouche renders, external wall insulation systems, tile adhesives/grouts, leveling compounds and specialist construction products

What we are looking for:

  • Passion and experience are key especially around life cycle analysis, experienced in gathering info on how efficient a plant is,
  • Experience of environmental product declaration
  • Experience in data collection and analysis, good with data, collating data, data mining
  • Good attention eye to detail
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal
  • Project management experience, Works well within a team, good people skills and cross department partnering experience across a manufacturing environment
What you will be doing:
  • Support and lead sustainability projects, Works closely with colleagues to contribute towards environmental projects and the sustainability road-map
  • Taking personal responsibility for own and team safety and promoting safe working practices across the business to cause no harm in the workplace and keep everyone safe.
  • Collating and processing required environmental data from relevant departments
  • Making Improvements and maintaining standards including ISO14001, BES 6001. Contributing to any new environmental accreditation\'s the business is working towards.
  • Sharing knowledge of Environmental impacts and aspects to increase the awareness and ensure the data can be used for future projects and differentiation of Saint-Gobain Weber\'s products. Acts as an environmental and sustainability champion for the business
  • Identifying LCA tools which could be integrated into current or future processes.
