Job Description

Dalradian is a mineral exploration and development company that has been working in Tyrone since 2009, supported by US investment, to develop an underground gold, silver and copper mine.

US owners, Orion Resource Partners, has invested $400 million to date, including geology, engineering and environmental studies, to progress the project. Over the 20-25-year life of the project, more than 3.5 billion will be spent on its local supply chain, salaries and taxes / payments to the Treasury - making it one of the largest-ever US investments in Northern Ireland. The company currently employs approximately 30 people in Omagh and has employed as many as 120, as well as providing 35 paid internships. Dalradian has built a supply chain of 500 companies including 180 in Tyrone and Fermanagh. The Dalradian team combines the local knowledge of geologists, environmental scientists, administrators and community workers from Northern Ireland with mine engineering and finance experience from the US and Canada - mature mining economies.

Dalradian's project aims to be one of the world's most advanced underground mines utilising the best available technology for modern mining. Extensive exploration work has demonstrated that Curraghinalt (c.12 miles north-east of Omagh) contains one of the world's most promising undeveloped gold deposits and also contains substantial quantities of silver and copper, plus other critical minerals. Dalradian plans to extract 3.5M ounces of gold plus 1.7M ounces of silver and 15K tonnes of copper over the lifetime of the mine.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Dalradian Gold Limited as a member of the environmental operations team.

The main purpose of this position is to provide support to the environmental operations team. Hours of work will be Monday-Friday, 9-5pm. Flexibility will be required from time to time but will not be excessive. The assistant sampler will be responsible to the Environmental Engineer, key duties and responsibilities will include:

Maintenance of equipment and stock control of consumables including equipment calibration;

Assist with the planning and execution of environmental monitoring/sampling campaigns;

Organising and shipment of samples to various laboratory's;

Following the site safety management system at all times;

Upload of environmental data onto the company database;

Any other duties that are required in relation to the execution of environmental requirements at the company.

Essential Criteria:



- A degree in science or related field or equivalent work experience.

- Physically fit and able to work in all kinds of environments including outdoors and underground.

- Willing to work as part of a busy team to assist with key duties.

- Full driving license.

- Proficient with Microsoft excel, access.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: From 25,000.00 per year
