We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Intern to join our Environmental Department on a 12-month contract, working 30 hours per week, starting in the summer of 2026.
This position involves providing support and guidance for various environmental projects at our Stowmarket site.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in performing site and waste inspections and collaborate on recommending appropriate actions to management in compliance with regulations.
Ensure proper packing and labelling of waste materials.
Assist with waste and water sampling, data collation, record keeping, and environmental research.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of site environmental policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as required.
Job Requirements:
Currently a full-time university student, studying Environmental Science or a closely related field, and seeking an internship or industrial placement.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Demonstrates initiative and strong organisational skills, with the ability to adapt and perform effectively in dynamic or challenging situations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to understand and convey job assignments, procedures, and safety standards effectively.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, fostering cooperation and positive relationships to achieve shared goals.

Work Environment:
Office and manufacturing plant setting, with potential exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes, or airborne particles.
Regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see.
Occasionally required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 14 kg).
Personal protective equipment will be provided.
