EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Our Water Quality and Environment team have an opportunity for you to join as our new Permit Compliance Advisor.

In your new role, you\'ll primarily be responsible for ensuring full compliance with our Environmental Permits relating to Bioresources and Waste Management activities. Our permits cover a range of different activities including Anaerobic Digestion, Combined Heat & Power and Waste Management.

Additionally, you\'ll support the broader team to ensure our Water and Waste Water Treatment sites have the correct permits in place and are compliant with their obligations.

Some of your other key accountabilities will include:

  • Support second line assurance of our operational sites by undertaking permit compliance audits.
  • Ensuring Operational Teams fully understand and comply with permit obligations by providing advice & training, seeking expert advice from Regulatory Leads.
  • Engage with the Regulator to fully understand our compliance obligations.
  • Agreeing the requirements for compliance with Regulatory Leads, considering any new permits, legal updates and any site variations.
  • Support Regulatory Leads, providing information necessary for waste permit applications and variations.
  • Working collaboratively with other key teams to ensure that the Company\'s overall environmental targets and objectives are met.
  • Compliance with all Company Health and Safety at Work policies and procedures to ensure that all activities are undertaken in a safe manner.
WHAT YOU\'LL BRING TO THE ROLE

To be successful in this role, it is expected that you\'ll have good technical knowledge and understanding of sewage and sludge treatment processes. Environmental permits are central to our compliance and environmental performance, so an understanding of Environmental Permitting would be desirable.

It\'s expected you\'ll have excellent communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance is met. The role is diverse and busy, requiring site visits across our operational areas as such you will need to be self-disciplined and able to work without supervision and can prioritize needs and deliver outputs within agreed timescales.

Qualifications:

Essential:
  • Current Driving Licence
  • Advanced IT Skills
  • Business Report Writing
Desirable:
  • Degree in Science/Engineering or a related discipline
  • BTEC Sewage Treatment or CIWEM Certificate in Water & Environmental Management
  • Safety Management qualification (IOSH or Managing Contractors & Suppliers)
