Binnies are recruiting for an EIA Consultant for key roles in our growing multi-disciplinary Environmental Services team. Binnies is a world-leader in Environmental and Critical Human Infrastructure projects in the Water and Flood Risk Management sector delivering exciting projects for clients including the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, Local Authorities, and Water Utility Companies. Our team also works on other large infrastructure projects across sectors such as transport and renewable power. Binnies hold the IEMA EIA Quality Mark which is a benchmark of our high standards in EIA delivery.

The roles would be preferably based close to our Redhill, Bradford on Avon or Chester Offices but we are open to candidates from across the country.

We have a number of roles available;

  • either to be focussed on specific sectors/projects, e.g. our current flood risk management framework for Natural Resources Wales or as a lead EIA coordinator on our nationally significant flood risk management project \xe2\x80\x93 the River Thames Scheme.
  • and/or to support a wider portfolio of project sectors.

Our environmental scientists are empowered to work closely with our multi-disciplinary teams and shape projects to deliver smarter and more sustainable solutions. You will also benefit from technical, leadership and H&S training and paid membership of two professional institutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing all stages of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) including SEA, feasibility, screening/scoping, and Environmental Statement chapters
  • Leading environmental support on a wide range of projects including fluvial and coastal flood risk management, water utility, rail, renewable/ energy projects and other large-scale infrastructure
  • Managing consenting applications such as planning, Development Consent Orders, Transport and Works Order and Environmental Permits
  • Supporting construction stage delivery
  • Liaising with project teams, clients, stakeholders and the public
  • Supporting business development and tenders
  • Providing a mentoring/supervisory role to more junior members of our team.
Qualifications/Requirements

The role is suitable for an Environmental professional with full professional membership (such as IEMA, IES or CIWEM). You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:
  • An environmental related degree
  • Chartered with a relevant institute and/or be a Registered EIA Practitioner with IEMA
  • A sound understanding of EIA
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Enjoy innovation and embracing advances in digital technology
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Previous experience of working in a consultancy environment is an advantage.
