Job Advert Description
Would you like a career like no other? If so... Join Us

South Wales Police brings together thousands of people with the same aim - to keep South Wales safe.

We want to be the best at understanding and responding to our community's needs. To do this we need the very best candidates from a wide range of backgrounds to apply to become part of our policing family.

We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as an E-Procurement Administrator in our Joint Commercial & Procurement Services. Could you be who we are looking for?

About the team/Department you will be joining:

This role sits within the Joint Procurement Unit across South Wales Police and Gwent Police, reporting to one of two Procurement Managers. You will work with the team providing administrative support across a wide range of areas and supporting collaborative units and local departments.

About the role and your key responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reconciliation of credit card transactions on behalf of users, verification of value for money submissions and the recording of cost savings.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining catalogues in our ERP system in relation to goods contracts for the southern Wales forces.

The role is required to run and progress reports, manage the procurement webpages for South Wales and Gwent and to provide resilience for other administrative roles within the department.

What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:

The successful candidate must have an understanding and awareness of organisational governance, procurement thresholds and financial controls and a knowledge of applying statistical techniques to data. You will be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft applications, possess good communication skills, previous administrative experience and be prepared to attend meetings and take minutes.

The post-holder will benefit from smarter working policies, with a mixture of home working and working in South Wales Police HQ, with occasional travel to Gwent Police.

Please note, if you are an internal candidate and subject to an ongoing PSD investigation, your appointment or placement in the role may be delayed pending an outcome. Whether the role is held open will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.

There are numerous benefits to working for South Wales Police, from learning and development opportunities to schemes which aim to improve your lifestyle and wellbeing, as well as generous Local Government Pension Scheme / Police Pension Schemes, paid annual leave, flexible working, family friendly policies and many more.
