Abbotsholme is a co-educational boarding and day school set in a large, beautiful estate on the Staffordshire / Derbyshire border. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Equestrian Coach to join our riding programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing riders of various skill levels, ensuring safety, and fostering a positive learning environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in sports coaching and teaching to share their expertise and promote equestrian excellence. The position is paid, reflecting the importance of professional coaching and training.

Responsibilities



Deliver engaging and safe riding lessons tailored to individual skill levels, from beginners to advanced riders Develop customised training programmes to improve rider technique, confidence, and overall performance Ensure all safety protocols are adhered to during lessons and riding activities Maintain the organisation and cleanliness of riding equipment and facilities Monitor rider progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage development Assist with group sessions, competitions, and special events as required Foster a positive environment that promotes respect for horses, safety, and sportsmanship

Experience



Proven experience in equestrian disciplines or related fields Demonstrated ability to teach effectively across different age groups and skill levels Knowledge of horse care, handling, and safety procedures is desirable but not essential if accompanied by relevant coaching experience Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire learners Qualified to BHS Stage 3.
