Group/Division
SPTS wafer processing solutions include market-leading silicon etch, dielectric etch, dry-release etch, PVD, PECVD and molecular vapor deposition (MVD), available with a range of wafer-handling options applicable to R&D, pilot production, or volume production environments. SPTS is headquartered and has its main manufacturing facility in Newport, UK, with additional manufacturing in Allentown, Pennsylvania. SPTS operates across 19 countries in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, and offers comprehensive service and spare parts support through a worldwide network of service centers and qualified local agents.
/Preferred Qualifications
As the successful candidate, you will be a multi-skilled engineer with good level of understanding of Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical systems. You would be supporting the other engineers in the group with equipment design/integration and expect to work to tight deadlines in a highly regulated industry. This is primarily an office-based role with some 'hands on' activities as required. You would show initiative and be motivated to learn new skills, very adaptable and keen to take advantage of the opportunities KLA can offer in progressing your personal development.
You will be based in the Newport factory but may also involve a small amount of international travel to suppliers or customers. The role is non-hybrid working however KLA offer flexibility working conditions in terms of start time. Work from home is available on an ad-hoc basis as business requirements allow.
Key Responsibilities:Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical component integration into existing systems Working on key customer projects supporting all engineering teams. Mechanical and electrical design using CAD. Obsolescence engineering. Testing/Verification of development and continuous improvement projects. Documentation -Engineering changes, Service Bulletins, Procedures, Reports, Engineering Drawings, Risk Assessments. Preparing reports for new product regulatory compliance audits.

Support activities:Support other areas of the business such as Customer Support and Manufacturing. Maintaining and reconfiguring the Departments R&D systems Key customer application support

Skills and Qualifications required:Degree or equivalent experience in a Science or Engineering discipline Relevant experience in complex equipment design for a large scale manufacturing company Critical thinking - ability to solve problems and provide solutions Knowledge within the semiconductor industry would be an advantage but not essential Experience of CAD system such as AutoCAD or Solid Edge would be useful but we will offer training and mentoring in this
