About the Role





Based at Bromborough and reporting to and deputising for the Equipment and Mobilisation Manager, the Equipment Maintenance Manager will manage 2x field service engineers and several sub-contractors and be supported by two administrators.


Role and Responsibilities




Plan/monitor preventive maintenance schedules monthly to ensure that all WHE is maintained cost effectively, is compliant and safe to use with minimum downtime. Liaise with customers regarding maintenance and repair activities. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities. Respond to maintenance or breakdown requests and issues in a timely manner. Progress chase with Engineers and/or sub-contractors ensuring that communication with the customer is always maintained until resolved. Process engineers' worksheets and review for completion, first time fix, outstanding work and identification of further works required. Escalate where required. Arrange return visits, further works, including modifications, major overhauls, and refurbishments into the planning schedule. Arranging Permits to work and RAMS packages for customers. Coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance services. Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.

Skills and Experience



The ideal candidate will come from an industrial-based background with experience maintaining recycling and waste management equipment such as balers and compactors, looking for progression into a more senior/management role. Relevant knowledge, experience and ability supersede qualifications as this is a niche position, but the candidate should have;



Experience of maintenance documentation, legal requirements and attention to detail. Experience and understanding of electrical circuits and testing/diagnostics on 3 phase equipment, hydraulic circuits and testing/fault finding. Experience and understanding of mechanical engineering, fabricating & welding. Recognised Health and safety qualification IOSH/NEBOSH and experience. Knowledge and experience of producing/reviewing Risk assessment and Method Statements. Excellent face to face customer service and negotiating skills. IT literate with ability to use computer-based systems e.g., MS Office/CRM ERP. Excellent written and oral communication. Can-do attitude, flexible and resourceful. Relevant Health & Safety qualification. Evidence of recent training /learning. Demonstrate technical knowledge and competencies across the Electrical, Mechanical & Hydraulic arenas in recycling/waste management or a relevant industry. Experience of planning and organising maintenance tasks. Experience of delivering Operator Training/toolbox talks/briefing. Full UK driving license and eligible to work and live in the UK.
