We are 16 miles from Perth and 19 miles from Dundee. Our school has a roll of 228 pupils across ten classes, and our Early Childhood Centre supports 72 children. The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our hard-working and friendly team as a permanent

Equity and Excellence Lead

within Perth & Kinross Council. The Scottish Government recognises the importance of highly qualified staff with expertise in early childhood learning and development, and this role is central to that vision.

As part of the Early Learning and Childcare management team, you will:

Support the delivery of high-quality learning and development for children aged 2-5 years. Lead on supporting children who face the greatest disadvantages and help close the attainment gap. Assist in managing the service for the benefit of all children, families, and the wider community. Implement the Raising Attainment Strategy and lead effective delivery of literacy, numeracy, and health and wellbeing to improve outcomes. Support practitioners to develop confidence, skills, and pedagogical practice, and increase parental engagement in family learning.

The role will be based primarily at Rattray, with the possibility of supporting other settings as required.

Skills & Experience Required

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and nurturing individual who:

Has relevant experience in early years settings. Holds a degree-level qualification such as BA Childhood Practice (or equivalent) and SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People), HNC in Childcare, NNEB, or equivalent. Can register as a Lead Practitioner with SSSC within 6 months of appointment. Demonstrates excellent communication skills, confidentiality, and a positive approach to working with children and families. Can work effectively within a team and on their own initiative.
