About the Role



As part of the EcoMetrica team, you'll join a highly skilled group of analysts, engineers, and specialists working to deliver industry-leading sustainability solutions. Our mission is to help organisations accurately track, report, and reduce their environmental impact--particularly carbon and other emissions--across complex supply chains and global operations.



The ESG Database Specialist contributes directly to the credibility and usability of our ESG reporting platform by sourcing, validating, and structuring key emissions and sustainability data. The team collaborates closely with Product, R&D, Customer success, and other internal functions to ensure our data is relevant, scalable, and trusted.



Key Responsibilities:



Data Source Management:

Proactively monitor and track updates from current data sources, ensuring the database remains current and aligned with the latest industry standards.

Data Updates & Integration:

Obtain data from new sources, perform necessary calculations, and systematically upload factors and assumptions to the database while ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Quality Assurance & Collaboration:

Work closely with Sustainability Analysts to coordinate and execute quality assurance (QA) processes, verifying data reliability before deployment, perform the final quality control before approval on production environment.

Research & Continuous Improvement:

Identify and evaluate new data sources to enhance database coverage, replacing obsolete or outdated information as needed.

Stakeholder Support & Methodology Transparency:

Provide detailed methodology explanations and respond to queries from analysts, clients, and auditors, ensuring clarity and confidence in data integrity.

Documentation & Compliance:

Maintain comprehensive records of methodologies for each data source, ensuring auditability and adherence to best practices.

Error Resolution & Database Optimization:

Identify and correct errors within the database, implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.

Regulatory & Audit Compliance:

Take ownership of compliance-related activities, ensuring data meets internal standards and external audit requirements.



What we're looking for:



Experience managing databases.

Knowledge of GHG accounting and emission factors.

Detail orientated with a requirement for accuracy.

Skilled in research and datasource investigation.

Expert in Excel.
