Job Description

We're seeking a passionate ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Tutor to join our team at Lighthouse Educational Society.
Your role will involve conducting engaging ESOL classes for adult learners in our community centre, once a week for 2 hours.
Responsibilities:
- Lead ESOL classes for adult learners, held once a week for 2 hours at our community centre.
- Assess students' English language skills and create personalised learning plans and curriculum.
- Develop and deliver effective lesson plans and teaching materials.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Support students in developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
- Cultivate a welcoming atmosphere that encourages active participation.
- Prepare and submit reports on student performance to the manager.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in teaching ESOL to adults.
- Relevant teaching qualifications and certifications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for teaching.
- Flexibility in adapting to different learning styles.
- Understanding of the diverse needs of adult learners.
- DBS check
