Estate Maintenance Worker / Ghillie Vacancy (Permanent, Full Time)
Sutherland, Highlands
The Reay Forest Estate, situated in the North West Highlands, is a large, traditional sporting estate famed for its deer stalking and trout and fishing as well as its wild beauty and remote landscapes.

As an Estate Maintenance Worker / Ghillie at the Reay Forest Estate, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Building Manager and the wider estate team in maintaining our estate via rolling plans, reactive work and assisting with sporting activities.
You will support both proactive and reactive maintenance tasks and projects with the in-house team, while collaborating with other service providers and contractors to maintain the highest standards and ensure all health and safety requirements are fulfilled.
Through the sporting season, you will assist with Ghillie duties, including driving off-road vehicles, walking, working with ponies, and other ad hoc tasks under the direction of the Sporting team and Head Stalker. Your role will involve supporting the Sporting team in preparing for and conducting guest activities, including aspects of fishing, shooting, and stalking.
Key responsibilities include supporting the Maintenance team in delivering the maintenance plan, ensuring high maintenance standards of the estate infrastructure are met on time and within budget. You will utilise your key trade skills to fulfil various works throughout the year, such as property maintenance, maintenance of services to all buildings, road, track, and bridge building and maintenance, drainage work, hedging and fencing, boundary maintenance, and forestry operations,
Candidates should possess a time-served key skill set or trade beneficial to the maintenance team on the estate, good communication and interpersonal skills, a practical and hands-on approach to problem-solving, strong attention to detail, and the ability to deliver a high-quality service. Good organisational skills, the ability to prioritise, plan, and prepare, and the ability to work well with others and form good working relationships are essential. A valid and clean UK driving license is required.
