We have an exciting new opportunity available for an Estates Assistant to join our growing Estates team based out of our Head Office in Sale. The ideal candidate will be someone who is hard working, solution focused and looking to progress within their career as part of a tight-knit and fast-growing organisation.
The successful candidate will report to the Senior Estates Assistant and will assist in overseeing the day-to-day management of a residential and/or student block management portfolio.
With the help of the Estates Manager(s), you will manage day-to-day issues and contractors across the sites, ensuring adherence with company standards and health & safety guidelines.
This role would be suitable to an individual with a strong customer service background who is keen to learn new skills. The successful candidate will have a pro-active attitude and a background in delivering excellent customer service alongside strong administration skills. Industry-specific training will be provided. They will also thrive working as part of a team and wider group of colleagues within the business, contributing to and taking part in various activities in the office as a valued part of our growing culture.
Leasehold knowledge and experience working in block management would be advantageous.
Main Duties: -
Working with the wider Estates team to ensure a high level of customer service.
Assisting the Estates Manager to manage preventative maintenance and schedules.
Day-to-day management of a residential and/or student portfolio, managing all repairs and planned maintenance, as well as appointing external contractors to manage repairs and upkeep.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers/contractors and appointing external contractors to manage repairs and upkeep.
Essential Skills & Abilities: -
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word as a minimum).
Good time management and prioritising skills with the ability to co-ordinate a complex workload.
Flexibility and able to demonstrate the ability to work on their own and as part of a team whenever required.
Experience & Qualifications: -
At least 12 months experience in a customer service role, either office, retail or hospitality based.
Experience of completing administration work.
GCSE in English Language and Maths, grade C/5 or above.
Ability to use Microsoft Office.
Desired but not essential: -
Knowledge of ARMA guidelines and requirements
Experience of working in property management and an awareness of section 20 consultations, fire safety and cladding.
Knowledge of property management software
