The post holder will be responsible for undertaking pre-planned and unplanned maintenance works within the areas/buildings covered by North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will be expected to undertake a range of work of varying trades on his/her own that would normally be undertaken by a skilled maintenance craftsman and also assisting other trade staff as required.
Assist with weekly fire alarm tests and monthly emergency light tests if required.
Undertake fire damper checks and ductwork / grilles and diffuser cleaning.
To be committed to working as a member of the Estates team and to ensure that a good quality, cost effective service is provided for users of the Estates service.
Carry out a wide range of tasks and repairs within the individual's competence
Replace light bulbs/tubes as required and store used lamps in accordance with Waste Regulations prior to disposal.
Determine lists of materials/supplies required for day-to-day maintenance works and collect from local suppliers.
Carry out checks and cleaning/ replacement of air filters in Minor ops rooms, kitchens and bathrooms etc to ensure good quality air for users of the building.
To be responsible for carrying out all duties in accordance with current Health & Safety at Work Legislation.
Carry out regular visual checks to Medical Gas systems & compressors and assist Medical Gas competent persons
To undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade that may be reasonably requested from time to time.
Work with trade staff i.e. fitters, joiners, plumbers & electricians to assist with maintenance and project work.
