We have an important and exciting position available for an Estimations Team Leader to come and contribute to the service provided by our Estimations Team, consisting of PMO, Project Coordinators and Technical Estimators.

It will be your mission to guide the function through the Infrastructure, Operations and EUT new demand assessment and estimation process to deliver Project Engagement Requests (PER) estimations in a timely manner whilst providing a quality service to our customers.

Typical day to day activities include the translation of technical architecture and user requirements into a workable, resilient and cost-effective technical designs, which conform to agreed architectural patterns and corporate strategy. In turn these will allow the required teams within Infrastructure, Operations and EUT to deliver the required components.

This is a 9 month Fixed Term Contract position playing a pivotal part in the management and execution of our Infrastructure, Operations and EUT services and ideal for someone looking to keep skills current, or wanting to contribute to the successful operations of the bank.

Understanding and appreciating the Santander UK Technology stack and the new demands that are presented from the business for Infrastructure, Operations and EUT support

Orchestrating the overall new demand assessment and estimation process, co-ordinating across the Infrastructure, Operations and EUT team to transition from new demand to delivery execution

Guiding and assisting the team to translate technical architectures and requirements into designed and build ready solutions to meet the demands presented

Maintaining cost efficiency and diligence to ensure the best possible outcomes for the most economic outlay

Seeking improvements to the processes, procedures and tools used to support all new demand submissions and assessments while seeking productivity and efficiency gains

Maintaining strong relations with key members of the teams submitting new demand, Finance, Procurement and the Infrastructure, Operations and EUT teams

Adept at understanding the core outcomes the new demand is seeking and recognising the requisite technology solutions to meet this

Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to speak fluidly across Technology and Business domains, commanding respect and the desire to listen based on the knowledge and details shared.

A natural team leader who is comfortable setting the agenda and directing activities across the Demand Management and Estimation team.

A keen ability to plan and estimate allowing for full and practical responses to new demand requests to allow for expedient agreement, sign off and transition to delivery execution.

A good appreciation of Risk appetite with an ability to manage and mitigate yet ensure value is derived from ongoing deliveries that meet both Technology and Business demands.

It would also be nice for you to have.

Previous experience in a PMO team with a focus on the initial assessment of new demand and project planning

Consulting experience in the retail financial services industry based on Technology delivery to meet business demands.

Managerial experience will be beneficial to help drive and motivate all required colleagues to deliver projects and outcomes efficiently, expediently and coherently across a wide spectrum of initiatives.

Sound financial planning and forecasting with exposure to third party suppliers recognising the need to spend Santander UK budgets wisely while extracting value and commitment to meet shared goals.

We will be conducting all interviews via telephone or video-conference where possible.

This is a Fixed Term contract role for a period of 9 months to cover a period of maternity leave.

The role is based at our Milton Keynes office with some remote working.

Time spent working from the Milton Keynes office will be 2-3 days per week initially. Please ask the Recruitment team for more details.
