We are looking for an Estimator, Acoustics in London.


About the job




The Estimator is responsible for producing accurate and competitive cost estimates for acoustic products to support the sales team. This involves independently reviewing construction drawings, performing detailed take-offs, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure precise project scope and costing. Working closely with sales, technical specialists, and clients, the Estimator manages the full estimation and quotation process, ensuring a smooth transition from enquiry to delivery. Strong attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.


Your key responsibilities will include:



Estimate Production




Build accurate estimates and proposals for the sales team. Perform take-offs and analyse construction drawings to define scope of work. Gather and review blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Calculate costs by assessing labour, materials, and time requirements. Communicate with internal teams throughout the estimating process. Identify and resolve discrepancies through information analysis. Present estimates with clear numerical and descriptive data. Compile reports summarising data, trends, and findings. Maintain and back up the cost database. Attend project kick-off meetings to brief the drafting team on scope.

Project Management




Keep acoustic project details current with regular updates from team input and meetings. Collaborate with acoustic specialists to follow up on quotes and ongoing projects. Update project status, pricing, and specifications in the CRM system. Conduct regular project reviews with the team. Understand the full project lifecycle and roles involved. Ensure CE records align with manual project tracking documents.

Administrative Tasks




Process acoustic product orders, ensuring accuracy and correct invoicing. Handle client communications throughout the order lifecycle, including delays and shipping issues. Provide shipping quotes and prepare product quotations in collaboration with sales and specialists. Respond to basic technical enquiries via email. Manage account, project, and contact data within the CRM system. Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot client issues. Check product stock and lead times with the production team. Process sample orders as needed.

Your Profile



Proven experience in a similar role is essential Industry experience is crucial - not necessarily textile related, although this would be preferable Excellent time management skills Natural attention to detail Pro-active with the ability to work on own initiative

Qualifications and competencies




Interpersonal skills Team player Professional communication skills PC proficiency (excellent keyboarding skills/data entry skills) Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Flexible and able to handle multi-tasking and problem solving Talent for creating ideas and improvements Good listening skills Learning agility
