Estimator

Elite Fire Solutions Ltd are a Fire Protection company based in Basildon, Essex. We install, service and maintain passive fire protection products nationwide. Due to expansion we are looking to recruit an Estimator who will be responsible for evaluating project documentation and providing accurate estimates for fire stopping, compartmentation and fire doors, both installation and remedials. This role will play a critical part in securing new projects and supporting the delivery of compliant, safe and cost-effective passive fire protection systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Careful inspection of tender documentation including drawings, specifications, and fire strategy reports to determine passive fire protection requirements. Prepare detailed take-offs and cost estimates for firestopping, fire doors, fire barriers, and compartmentation, taking into account all known conditions and requirements, focusing on customer satisfaction while minimising any potential risks to the company. Discuss, where needed, the sequence of a project with Contracts and Compliance to enable a proposed construction methodology/programme period to be determined. Develop detailed, accurate and well written bid proposals adhering to client guidelines including supplementary documentation in accordance with tender return deadlines. Where needed, arrange a meeting with Director(s)/Management to adjudicate the tender prior to submission. Explain the project and the basis of the pricing. Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and labour. Prepare and distribute clear, accurate and detailed job sheets including specific detail drawings. Collaborate with project managers, clients, engineers, and field teams to ensure understanding of the scope and support project handovers. Assist in the preparation of awarded projects variation quotations in conjunction with the Commercial Team. Actively participate in industry, client and community relations to enhance company image. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of passive fire protection products, technologies, and industry trends.

Skills and Requirements:

Excellent presentation skills, analytical skills and attention to detail. Proficient in the use of MS Office suite applications and bespoke estimating software if applicable. Exceptional customer service skills Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Thorough knowledge of construction processes, procedures, rules and regulations, including industry related guidance. Computer literate and capable of producing accurate and thorough reports and analysis. Identify opportunities for improving accuracy and integrity of quotes. Be able to track and manage multiple estimates and bid deadlines. Taking responsibility for ensuring tenders are delivered to the appropriate place on time to the correct person.

Experience and Qualifications:

A minimum of 4 years experience in estimating within the construction industry, with experience in passive fire protection preferred. Strong understanding of passive fire protection systems and installation practices. Familiarity with construction and fire safety codes and standards. Excellent analytical, numerical, and organisational skills. Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously. ASFP training or similar passive fire protection accreditation.

Up to45k, depending on experience
