We're seeking a motivated individual to join our commercial department, supporting key infrastructure and maintenance projects across the region. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging schemes, contributing to the successful delivery of tenders and commercial solutions.
Key Responsibilities (not exhaustive):
Act as a vital member of the commercial team, supporting the Senior Estimator and Commercial Manager
Develop strong working relationships with internal teams and client representatives
Liaise with clients during the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase
Research and compile data on materials, labour, equipment, and project timescales
Prepare tenders from schedule of rates, including traffic management subcontractor elements
Review received tenders, advise clients on suitability, and assist in contract documentation
Support measurement and valuation of ongoing work, identifying deviations from original contracts
Collaborate closely with Estimating and Operations teams across all work packages
Requirements for the Role:
Proficient in Causeway 3 estimating software (essential)
Experience with SAP and CEMAR (advantageous)
Working knowledge of Chapter 8 (Parts 1, 2, and 3), TSRGD 2016, and the Safety of Street Works & Road Works Code of Practice
Familiarity with NEC3/4 contracts (highly beneficial)
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation abilities
Degree-level education preferred; HND or QBE (Qualified by Experience) also considered
Full UK manual driving licence (max 6 points) - company vehicle provided
The role is based our at Tarmac Colchester Office in Essex. The office is easily commutable from Colchester, Tiptree, West Mersea, Clacton-on-Sea, Great Bentley, Braintree, Witham, Ipswich, Sudbury, Halstead, Chelmsford and the surrounding areas
