Job Description

Hi-Tech Property Services are an experienced and successful building, maintenance and refurbishment company with a substantial and growing client base. As a leading provider of property management and construction services we are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and professionalism to deliver exceptional customer services.

Due to the sustained growth, we are seeking an Estimator to join our team based at our Head Office in Fareham. You will work as part of our estimating department, supporting the delivery of reactive maintenance, planned maintenance and refurbishment projects. The role involved working closely across all other departments to help delivery high quality service to our customers across the hospitality, health care and public sector industries.

Responsibilities



Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects based on specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents. Conduct thorough analysis of labour, materials, equipment, and overhead costs to ensure precise budgeting. Collaborate with project managers to understand project requirements and timelines, ensuring estimates align with project goals. Apply pricing methodologies, cost breakdowns and risk assessment using appropriate tools and software Attend site visits and conduct surveys where required to ensure accurate preparation of estimates. Ensure quotes are competitive, through expansion of our supply chain to achieve best value. Liaise with customers, our own contracts managers, project managers and across other departments to ensure clear understanding of project expectations. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes and verify pricing accuracy. Review completed projects to evaluate the accuracy of estimates versus actual costs, providing feedback for future improvements.

Qualifications



Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry is preferred. Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices, familiarity with BCIS and/or SPONs is preferred. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations. Proficient in using estimating software and tools; familiarity with CAD software is advantageous. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Methodical and organised approach to work. Good communication skills and ability to work collaborative within a team. Ability to manage deadlines and priorities workload Relevant qualifications in construction management, engineering, or a related field are desirable but not essential.
As a fast moving and growing business, there will be a need to continuously review key responsibilities and accountabilities whilst embracing ad-hoc tasks outside the core remit when required
