Senior Estimator

to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:



Tendering & Cost Estimation:



Review and analyze enquiry documentation to fully understand the scope, requirements, and conditions Quantify the extent of works required based on tender documents, specifications, and drawings. Identify and evaluate commercial and technical risks, offering the best solutions. Engage with the supply chain to explore cost-saving opportunities and maximise value during the bidding process. Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates, including detailed bills of quantities. Develop a comprehensive cost estimate for preliminary resources, aligning with the agreed programme and engineering requirements. Ensure all tender-related documents, communications, and client queries are maintained in an organized and controlled manner.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Client Engagement:

Build strong client relationships by understanding and addressing key requirements and expectations. Prepare and present the commercial aspects of tenders to the

Commercial Bid Manager

and/or

Pre-Construction Director

for approval. Lead commercial tender submissions and presentations to clients, ensuring clarity and professionalism. Support the construction delivery team by providing a detailed commercial handover, ensuring smooth project execution. Work closely with project teams to gather post-tender feedback, refining future estimating strategies.

Strategic & Departmental Development:

Contribute to continuous improvement by implementing new processes and methods that enhance efficiency and accuracy. Provide mentoring and support to junior team members, fostering professional development. Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, ensuring the right talent is brought into the team.

What We're Looking For:



Years of demonstrable success securing new work, predominantly within the Groundwork and RC Frame sector, ranging from 5m-50m in value Demonstrable experience of dealing with multiple clients, forms of contract and methods of measurement Ability to manage multiple tenders at different stages of a tender lifecycle at one time A good level of competency of Microsoft packages Senior level commercial and contractual awareness In depth knowledge of Estimating Software packages An excellent communicator

Qualifications:



Absolute minimum GCSE or equivalent qualification in English and Mathematics An industry applicable qualification.
