We are a well-established, specialist structural steel company based in Ayrshire, focusing primarily on

bridgeworks

across Scotland and the wider UK. With a strong reputation for quality and reliability, we are seeking an experienced

Structural Steel Estimator

to join our team.

Role Overview:

You'll be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions, working closely with directors and project managers to ensure we deliver competitive bids backed by solid technical understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to produce accurate steelwork estimates. Carry out material take-offs and labour assessments. Liaise directly with suppliers and subcontractors to gather quotations. Prepare complete and competitive tenders. Communicate clearly with internal teams regarding project scope, risks, and timelines. Support value engineering and risk management discussions during pre-contract phase.

Requirements:

3+ years of experience in structural steel estimating. Sound understanding of steel fabrication, erection, and detailing processes. Comfortable working independently with a proactive approach. Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness. Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 07:45 - 16:30 Friday: 07:45 - 14:00
