Our client is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing team in Liverpool. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates for a wide range of projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and successful company where you will be responsible for assessing project requirements, conducting detailed take-offs, and producing cost plans to help deliver projects within budget and on time.Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates for projects ranging up to xc2xa33 million, covering all stages from design to completion
  • Conducting site visits to assess project scope, gather information, and evaluate risks
  • Reviewing and analyzing tender documents, specifications, and drawings to prepare comprehensive estimates
  • Developing accurate and competitive tender submissions, considering labor, materials, and overhead costs
  • Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and develop procurement strategies
  • Identifying and managing project risks and ensuring that costs are controlled throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and the wider team to ensure project requirements are met
  • Producing cost breakdowns, tender submissions, and project budgets for review by senior management
  • Managing and monitoring project costs, offering advice and recommendations to ensure projects are delivered within budget
  • Ensuring all estimates are completed in accordance with company procedures and industry standards
  • Supporting the bid process, including presenting estimates to clients and stakeholders
What you will need to succeed:
  • Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry
  • Experience with projects valued up to xc2xa33 million
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project delivery
  • Experience with cost estimating software (e.g., CostX, Estimator, or similar)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Ability to assess project risks and deliver cost-effective solutions
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
  • Membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is desirable but not essential
